How to use this calculator

Frequently asked questions
Can it calculate an overnight shift?
Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the shift is treated as ending the next day. A shift must be shorter than 24 hours.
How are paid work hours calculated?
The unpaid break is subtracted from the time between the start and end of the shift.
How is overtime pay calculated?
Overtime hours are multiplied by the base hourly rate and the multiplier you enter.
What is gross salary?
Gross salary is basic pay plus overtime and bonuses before deductions.
What is net salary?
Net payable is gross salary minus tax and other deductions.
Does this calculator automatically calculate tax?
No. Enter the applicable tax amount or percentage yourself.
